Job Description
We are looking for an experienced person with the right work ethics who will assist the management and cooking team in daily activities in our café to ensure successful carrying out of all tasks. In fulfilling this role, you will run and support operations in the front and back kitchens, retail areas and client relations.
Job Duties
The primary job duties and responsibilities are:
Guest Service
Demonstrate exceptional Guest service with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintain a clean and comfortable store environment. Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the staff. Anticipate Guest and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and Guests for cues. Have a ‘Guest comes first’ attitude and connect with each and every Guest. Respond to Guest needs. Follow up with staff to ensure the delivery of exceptional Guest service for all Guests. Respond positively to Guest feedback and resolve Guest complaints.
General
Execute store operations during scheduled shifts. Organize opening and closing duties as assigned. Follow operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all staff during each shift. Follow all cash management and cash register policies and ensure proper cash management practices are followed by staff. Maintain regular and punctual attendance, setting an example for the rest of the staff. Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines, for all products. Utilize operational tools to achieve operational excellence during each shift. As required at the request of the Management to prepare the final cash out at the end of the day. Provide input to Management on what is selling. Ensure timely ordering when stocks are low. Report to work in clean, professional attire and if applicable wear company issued uniform. Thorough knowledge of POS and cash handling is required.

- Perform store opening duties.
- Handle receiving orders. Check order forms for accuracy. Put all order items in place.
- Wash fruit and vegetables.
- Make ingredients ready for soups and salads.
- Assist in meal preparations (wraps, soups, salads, sushi).
- Assist in preparation of pastry (muffins, cookies, scones, biscotti).
- Assist in preparing the sandwich prep table, juice bar and coffee stations, as needed. Stock up these stations with ingredients.
- Stock up to-go containers, as needed.
- Perform cleaning duties, as needed (working stations, tables, countertops, floors, dust surfaces, etc).
- Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance to effectively reduce equipment downtime.
- Predict what supplies the cafe will need and coordinate with manager.
- Contribute to a positive team environment. Set the standard for high quality performance.
